Sant Dnyaneshwar - The Great Saint of India

Saint (संत) Dnyaneshwar is one of the greatest Hindu saints, poets and philosophers of Maharashtra state, India from the 13th century belonging to the Nath Sampradaya (an association of devotees who consider Lord Shiva as their first Guru). Saint (संत) Dnyaneshwar was born in the year 1275 on Krishna Janmashtami in Maharashtra – Apegaon to Shree Vithalpant and Rukhmini bai. His siblings were brothers, Saint (संत) Nivruttinath (who was also his Guru), Sopan, and sister Muktabai. He was one of the first philosophers who demystified the Bhagavad Gita from Sanskrit into Marathi verses (ovis) with a commentary. This came to be known as “Shri Dnyaneshwari” and thus opened the floodgates of spiritual knowledge including kundalini, and metaphysics for the benefit of masses.
